Fire up the DeLorean and dust off your leg warmers. This year's Friend of the Year Dinner is going back to the future of Texas public schools, an 80s throwback night full of neon lights, big hair energy, and even bigger gratitude.

This year we're honoring Bill Gumbert as Friend of the Year and celebrating our first-ever Teacher of the Year. We're also honoring Blake Cooper as Ambassador of the Year, awarded posthumously, and carrying his legacy forward through the newly renamed Blake Cooper Memorial Scholarship, given to a graduating senior who uses their voice and vision to reflect on what public school made possible for them. They're a few names among countless people doing this work across Texas, and we're glad for the excuse to say thank you out loud.
